The Gordon Parks Foundation visited Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square in celebration of the Foundation’s 10th anniversary Awards Dinner and Auction.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at Cipriani 42nd Street. In honor of the occasion, board member and event co-chair Alexander Soros rang the opening Bell.
During the hour of the opening Bell, iconic Gordon Parks photographs were broadcast across Times Square on the Nasdaq Tower and Marquee as well as photos taken during live during the ceremony.
Guests included Foundation Board member Lewis J. Hart III and Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, founders of the fashion brand Public School and Creative Directors of DKNY, who will be honored at the Foundation’s upcoming Awards Dinner and Auction this Tuesday, May 24th at Cipriani 42nd Street.
This year’s event is co-chaired by Alicia Keys, Kaseem ‘Swizz Beatz” Dean, Karl Lagerfeld, Usher IV, Grace Raymond, and Alexander Soros and will also honor artist Janelle Monae, photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier, Founder of the Equal Justice Initiative Bryan Stevenson, and Leonard and Judy Glickman Lauder, for their incredible creative work, which truly embodies the spirit of Mr. Parks. The event will also feature a special musical performance by Jon Batiste & Stay Human.
