Carlos Hernandez is a lens-based artist from Jersey City, New Jersey. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 8 from the Dominican Republic and settled in the New York metropolitan area. Carlos attended High Tech High School, followed by undergraduate studies at NYU Tisch School of The Arts in their BFA Photography & Imaging program beginning in Fall 2019. His work, influenced by his own identity, embarks on conversations of issues such as sexuality, race, gender & class. Carlos hopes to help pave the path to a more accepting and understanding society.
